LIMITED EDITION PRINTS FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is the difference between an open edition and a limited edition?

A limited edition has a fixed number of prints, each hand‑signed, numbered, and permanently recorded to protect provenance and value. Once sold out, it will never be reprinted in this format. An open edition has no fixed quantity and can be reprinted indefinitely. Open editions do not carry edition numbers and are not part of the collector‑grade archive.

Why are limited editions more expensive than open editions?

Limited editions are produced to collector standards: each print is hand‑signed, individually numbered, permanently recorded, and strictly capped in quantity. This controlled scarcity, combined with premium materials, archival production, and provenance documentation, gives limited editions higher long‑term value. Open editions can be reprinted indefinitely and do not carry the same collector protections, making them less costly.

Will the print rise in value?

While no artwork can guarantee future value increases, limited editions are designed to protect long‑term collectability. Because the edition size is fixed, permanently recorded, and never reprinted in this format, scarcity can support value over time. Many collectors choose limited editions for their stronger provenance and long‑term desirability compared with open editions.

Is the edition size fixed?

Yes. The edition size is set from the start and will never be increased.

Will the print be reprinted once sold out?

No. Once the edition sells out, it is permanently closed and will not be re‑released in the format stated.

Are different sizes or papers part of the same edition?

No. Any change in size, paper, finish, or format is treated as a separate edition with its own numbering.

Are Artist Proofs included?

Artist Proofs (APs) exist outside the main edition and are never added to the numbered run.

How is the print produced?

Prints are professionally produced on premium papers using pigment inks for exceptional colour and longevity.

UK delivery - is each print signed by the artist?

Yes* - all UK‑dispatched prints are physically signed and numbered by the artist before shipping. *Please refer to the details below for delivery overseas.

Overseas outside of the UK - is each print signed by the artist?

To remove duty charges, lower the carbon footprint and support sustainable practice, your print will be produced by a trusted high-quality local print partner in your country or region. This means you will received the original hand-signed certificate of authenticity (recorded delivery) plus an emailed copy, both are sent on notification of successful delivery). Please note, the actual print will be unsigned.

How long does production take?

Prints are produced within 7–10 working days, unless circumstances beyond control arise.

Can I return my print?

Limited‑edition prints cannot be returned for change‑of‑mind reasons.

What if my print arrives damaged?

A replacement will be issued using the same edition number. The damaged print is returned to the artist and destroyed to protect the integrity of the edition.

Do I receive a Certificate of Authenticity?

Yes - each print includes a hand‑signed Certificate of Authenticity detailing the edition number, edition size, title, paper and date.

Does the Certificate include a registered ID?

Yes. Each Certificate of Authenticity includes a unique ID, which the artist records and registers internally. This ensures clear provenance, secure verification, and long‑term traceability of your edition.

Is the print framed?

Unless stated otherwise in the description, all limited‑edition prints are supplied unframed, allowing you to choose a frame that suits your space and personal style. Your framer will be able to advise on the best materials and glazing to protect the artwork long‑term.
