Why AI can’t paint: the return of human touch
Share
The threat of AI taking over the art world is a worry most artists can relate to, but I'm seeing it from a completely different angle, and it's a positive one.
ROBOTS AND PAINTBRUSHES. Genuine art lovers won’t consider AI‑produced work. They value human connection and craftsmanship, and they want to live with something truly made by hand. At best, AI can only offer a digital print. Yes, there are probably robots picking up paintbrushes, but they're still robots.
WHAT'S REAL ANYMORE? The media is awash with fake, AI‑generated content, leaving people unsure of what’s real. In response, they’re seeking out human connection, something genuine, authentic, and believable. Hurrah: the rise of human connection has begun and buyers are reaching out to talk about art again.
TAKING CONTROL OF YOUR INBOX. I’m seeing a growing shift toward email subscriptions, people are taking control of what they receive, choosing only what truly interests them instead of doom-scrolling through endless, often AI‑generated noise. Another small victory: genuine buyers seeking genuine art.
As AI floods the media with fakes, art lovers are reclaiming authenticity; seeking human touch, true craft, and genuine connection.
